Selydivs’ka Central City Hospital is one of the crucial medical institutions in Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
In direct proximity with the frontline, it provides assistance to the people affected by the war.
This is not the first time the hospital has been targeted by military strikes. A few months ago, an air raid damaged the hospital’s infectious diseases and reception department, resulting in the loss of one civilian and injuring eight others.
On the night of February 14, one of the hospital’s buildings sustained severe damage due to shelling, resulting in at least 3 deaths and 6 wounded. In response to this tragic incident, approximately one hundred patients with various health conditions are now being transported to hospitals in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.
Première Urgence Internationale has been supporting the hospital with donations of medicines, equipment, gloves, syringes, bedding and other medical supplies necessary for the hospital’s functioning.
Recently, Première Urgence Internationale Head of Ukrainian mission and Asia & Europe Desk Manager visited the hospital to discuss further cooperation and support.
Première Urgence Internationale strongly condemns strikes targeting civilian infrastructures and expresses its solidarity with the victims and their families.
We call on the armed forces to respect International Humanitarian Law and protect the space that saves civilians’ lives and guarantees them access to essential and vital services.
